This is the spider
that talked to me, called me in from the open field
and said here I am photograph me. From then on it
was nothing but magic. With the excellent help of
Les who gives very quiet careful direction, the
spider came to life as it glistened with water
drops while being backlit by the sun. We worked
with him for about thirty minutes and the result is
this image that was a whoopee dance for me.
The image is much more about the journey then about perfect results. I can look at it and enjoy the experience of photographing it or I can look at it and decide what I could have done better. I prefer the first option. The memory of kneeling in water and carefully moving my tripod and then watching the wonder appear in the view finder will never be forgotten. Thank you Les for guiding me on this journey.
