I
was in the Smoky mountains with Nancy, Les, Don and
group. We were at this beautiful spot with a barn
and stream. I wandered away to find an outdoor
bathroom and take a “break”. I found myself behind
an abandoned house. I walked into the house and I
felt like I was entering into someone’s story.
While there was nothing much of material substance
inside to indicate the life that had been lived
here, there was an energy I felt compelled to
explore. The light and shadows drew me in.
Eventually I started shooting and I was lost in the
process of creating images. I was mesmerized. I
shot images inside the house and from the outside
looking in. I was looking for reflections and the
play of light. I didn’t really see what I had
created in this image until after I downloaded it.
The dust and spider webs on the window created the
ghostly feeling. I shot this particular image from
the outside looking in.
